Brookings Municipal Utilities further restricts lawn watering

Due to the ongoing drought, Brookings Municipal Utilities is further restricting the use of water for irrigating lawns in Brookings.
Starting July 19th, watering lawns will be limited to every Monday and Friday for properties with an even-numbered address and every Tuesday and Saturday for properties with an odd-numbered address.
Watering of lawns on any other day will be prohibited unless specifically permitted by BMU.
The utility says compliance with these water restrictions is necessary to assure the health and safety of the community.
Those not in compliance may be subject to a fine or loss of water service.
