Brookings School Superintendent, Dr. Klint Willert. has resigned, effective June 2, 2023.

A release from the Brookings School District says the board has received Dr. Willert’s resignation and they thank him for his service.

School Board Chair Keli Books says the board will quickly and thoroughly focus on a search for the next superintendent. The Board will hold a special meeting this afternoon to accept Willert’s resignation and to initiate the search for the next Superitnendent.

Willert joined the Brookings School District in July 2015.

Dr. Willert noted he is extremely proud of his accomplishments and has enjoyed serving the Brookings community. He says it has been “an honor and a privilege to serve the learners, staff, taxpayers, and community for the past eight years.”

The release says Willert will continue to work with the school board and the district leadership to ensure a smooth transition.
