Brookings Sheriff’s office investigating wire theft

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the theft of copper wiring from mining equipment.
Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says the large diameter wire was removed from the equipment Sunday evening. It happened at a building site located on 32nd Street near 34th Avenue South.
The value of the stolen wire is estimated at about $9,000.
