Candidates for Brookings City and School Election can soon begin circulating petitions

Nominating petitions and candidate packets are available at the City Clerk’s Office for this year’s City Election and petitions are available at the school district business office for the School Board Election.
This year’s City and School Election is set for April 13. Petitions can be circulated beginning January 29th. The last day to file a petition is Friday, February 26 by 5:00 p.m.
Up for election this year on the city side are Mayor Keith Corbett and Council Members Patty Bacon and Nick Wendell.
On the school side, the seats currently held by board members Debra DeBates and Roger DeGroot are up this year.
