Coronavirus death toll hits 11 in South Dakota and two new cases reported in Brookings County

Another fatality from COVID-19 reported over the weekend in South Dakota, raising the total to 11.
The latest death occurred in Minnehaha County. Six of the deaths have been in that county.
The state department of Health now reports 2212 total cases with 1257 recovered and 135 “ever hospitalized.” Current hospitalizations are at 64. There have been 14,062 negative tests.
The are two new active cases in Brookings County and another 9 people have recovered for the county total of 11. There have been 329 total negative tests conducted in Brookings County.
Minnehaha County is now at 1854 cases, the majority are connected to Smithfield Foods.
