Election Day is here!

It is Election Day across America.

If you haven’t already voted, you’ll be casting your ballot for president of the United States.

In South Dakota, you’ll choose a U.S. Senator in the race between incumbent Republican Mike Rounds and Democratic challenger Dan Ahlers. Congressman Dusty Johnson faces Randy Luallin. There is also a statewide Public utilities Commissioner race and three ballot issues. Those issues include recreational and medical marijuana and sports betting in Deadwood.

In Brookings County, there is a Commissioner election as incumbents Ryan Krogman and Mike Bartley are challenged by Tim Bauer. Two will be elected.

District 7 features a House race with incumbent Republican Tim Reed and former Republican lawmaker Larry Tidemann facing Democrats Bill Adamson and Louise Snodgrass. State Senator V.J. Smith is unopposed.

District 4 features a House race between incumbent Republicans Fred Deutsch and John Mills and Democrat Becky Holtquist. On the Senate side, incumbent Republican Jon Wick is being challenged by Libertarian Daryl Root.

Polls are open until 7:00 this evening.
