Intersection of 8th and Main to be closed in Brookings

The intersection of 8th Street South and Main Avenue will be closed starting the week of June 6th.

The City Public Works Department will be doing reconstruction work, replacing the asphalt with concrete and working on the water main in the area as well. Detour signs will be posted, and the public is asked to use caution around the intersection while construction work is underway.

Businesses in the detoured areas will remain open, and city garbage, yard waste, and recycling collection in the area will continue as usual.

The work is expected to run through the week of August 15.
