No COVID-19 deaths in South Dakota Tuesday; Brookings County improves to “moderate” spread

No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday, the total remains 1981.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by 15 and are at 40. Total cases increase by 1 to 4208. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4131 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 157. Because of the decreasing numbers, the County has been moved to the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 111 to 1100. Total cases increase by 126 to 123,435. There are 120,354 recovered cases. Current Hospitalizations decrease by 15 to 66.

Fifty-six percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 620,302 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 335,301 people. A total of 23,838 doses have been given in Brookings County to 13,614 people.
