No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday; active cases continue to fall

No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The total remains 2027.

Active cases in Brookings County fall by two and are down to four. There are no new cases, the total remains 4234 and recovered cases are at 4193. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by nine to 154. Total cases increase by 19 to 124,411. There are 122,230 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by three to 31.

Fifty-six percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 678,769 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 362,554 people. A total of 27,474 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,817 people.
