No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday; active cases continue to inch back up

No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The total remains 2030.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by one and are down to three. There are no new cases today; the total is 4235 and recovered cases are at 4195. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by four to 174. Total cases increase by 20 to 124,512. There are 122,308 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations increase by six to 21.

Fifty-seven percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 685,951 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 365,696 people. A total of 27,692 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,895 people.
