No COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday in South Dakota; active cases still falling

No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The total remains 2027.

Active cases in Brookings County fall by one and are down to three. There are no new cases, the total remains 4234 and recovered cases are at 4194. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by three to 151. Weekend numbers are added in today and total cases increase by 36 to 124,446. There are 122,268 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by five to 26.

Fifty-six percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 681,803 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 363,868 people. A total of 27,589 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,854 people.
