One COVID-19 death reported Friday in South Dakota; active cases on the rise

One COVID-19 death reported in South Dakota Friday. The total is now 2030.

Active cases in Brookings County hold at four. There are no new cases today; the total is 4235 and recovered cases are at 4194. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by six to 170. Total cases increase by 14 to 124,492. There are 122,292 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by three to 15.

Fifty-seven percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 684,745 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 365,255 people. A total of 27,667 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,885 people.
