Patty Bacon announces resignation from Brookings City Council

Brookings City Council Member Patty Bacon is resigning, effective April 30.

Bacon made the announcement at the end of Tuesday evening’s council meeting.

In a press release, Bacon says it was a difficult decision. She says, “I have been living with an auto immune condition for a number of years and it has progressed to the level that prevents me from giving the energy the Council position deserves.”

Bacon says it has been a privilege to serve the community as council member for the past seven years. She says she hopes to find other ways to serve the community.
