Sioux Falls man killed in bow hunting accident near White

 

A Sioux Falls man is dead after a bow hunting accident southeast of White.

Brookings County Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it was reported just before 9:00 o’clock Friday morning.

Sebring says 62-year-old Mark Steinborn of Sioux Falls was accidentally shot with an arrow by his 29-year-old son, Gabriel Steinborn, also of Sioux Falls

Life saving measures were attempted at the scene, but were unsuccessful.

The two men had been bow hunting turkeys in a field near the intersection of 482nd Avenue and 205th Street.

The White Ambulance, Brookings Ambulance, South Dakota Game Fish and Parks, and Brookings County Sheriff’s Office all responded.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating.
