Six COVID-19 deaths reported Tuesday; active cases drop

Six COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Tuesday. The total is now 2177.
Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 13 to 178. Seven new cases reported, raising the total to 5011. Recovered cases are at 4795. There have been 38 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.
Statewide, active cases decrease by 50 to 6539. Total cases are up by 429 to 148,249. There are 139,533 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 11 to 202.
Sixty-five percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
