Sloss resigns as Brookings Economic Development Director

The Brookings Economic Development Corporation is looking for a new leader.

Andrew Sloss, who joined BEDC as Chief Economic Development Director last fall, has resigned. His resignation was effective September 30. Sloss had started in the position on October 5, 2020. BEDC Board President Carla Gatzke says, “the BEDC Board of Directors thanks Andrew for his contributions to Brookings during this past year.”

The BEDC Board will initiate a search for a new Chief Economic Development Director/CEO.

BEDC Board member Tim Reed will serve as Interim Director during the search. Reed currently serves in the South Dakota Legislature as a Representative from District 7. Reed also served eight years as Mayor of Brookings.
