Tenth COVID-19 fatality in South Dakota, total cases top 2000

South Dakota records another death from coronavirus and the state has now topped 2000 cases. The state Department of Health reports 84 new cases of COVID-19 today, bringing the total to 2040.

There have now been 10 fatalities from the disease in South Dakota.

There have been 12,784 negative tests and 1190 people have recovered from the virus. The “ever hospitalized” category is at 124 people.

Brookings County remains at 9 cases with all 9 recovered. The County is listed as community spread, in the minimal/moderate category. There have been 316 negative tests conducted in Brookings County.

Minnehaha County saw now stands at 1707 confirmed cases. A large number of those are connected to Smithfield Foods.
