Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday; active cases falling

Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday. The total is now 2004.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by two and fall to 21. Total cases hold at 4221. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4163 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 161. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 46 to 522. Total cases increase by 31 to 123,942. There are 121,416 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 5 to 56.

Fifty-four percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 644,142 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 346,152 people. A total of 26,080 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,258 people.
