Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday; active cases climb back above 2000

Three new COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday. The total is now 1896.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by one to 60. Four new cases have been reported, raising the total to 3,603. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3,505 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 127. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 63 to 2056. Total cases have increased by 232 to 113,065. The number of people who have recovered is 109,113. Current hospitalizations decrease by 10 to 87.

Some 237,370 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 154,334 people. A total of 6,824 doses have been given in Brookings County to 4,866 people.
