Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday; small drop in active cases

Three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday. The total is now 2170.

Active cases in Brookings County decrease by 4 to 206. Fifteen new cases reported, raising the total to 4997. Recovered cases are at 4753. There have been 38 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 19 to 6716. Total cases are up by 474 to 147,469. There are 138,583 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by eight to 213.

Sixty-five percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
