A Timber Lake woman has been sentenced to eight years in federal prison in the death of her boyfriend.

Thirty-seven-year-old Brenna Low Dog pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in December.

In January of last year, Low Dog and her boyfriend got into an argument that turned violent. Low Dog says he pushed her down, struck her three times in the arms with his
fists, and pulled her hair. Low Dog stabbed the man once in the chest with a five-inch knife and he died as a result.

Low Dog was immediately remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
