Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday; active cases continue to climb

Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Friday, the statewide total is now 2357.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 25 to 212. Twenty-seven new cases reported Thursday. The total is now 5444. Recovered cases are at 5191. There have been 41 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “high” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 156 to 7572. Total cases increase by 513 to 168,271. There are 158,342 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by one to 247

Sixty-five percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.
