Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The total is now 2029.

Active cases in Brookings County hold at three. There are no new cases, the total remains 4234 and recovered cases are at 4194. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County. The County is in the “minimal” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 11 to 162. Total cases increase by 23 to 124,468. There are 122,277 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by six to 20.

Fifty-six percent of the state’s eligible population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 682,578 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 364,252 people. A total of 27,614 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,869 people.
