Vision Brookings announces campaign designed to invest in housing, childcare and more

Vision Brookings announces a $3.2 million five-year campaign to invest in opportunities for the Brookings area. More than $2 million dollars has already been raised.

According to a press release, the goal is to capture new and expanding business opportunities that will result in regional economic growth. It includes efforts to increase  affordable and workforce housing and quality childcare, develop and expand the Research Park at South Dakota State University and fulfill the private sector match for the new I-29 Interchange.

Campaign co-chair Kevin Tetzlaff of First Bank & Trust says they invite private businesses and individuals to invest in strategies for growth of the Brookings area economy.

Vision Brookings started in 2005 to develop initiatives that contribute to the areas long-term economic growth and development.

Through three previous campaigns, the organization raised $7.45 million. Those contributions leveraged an additional $50 million from other sources for local economic development projects.
