Work to begin on several Highway 14 intersections near Brookings

The South Dakota Department of Transportation says work will begin on an intersection improvement project on U.S. 14 east and west of Brookings on Tuesday, June 1st.
Turning lanes will be added at the intersections of Highway 14 and 458th, 459th and 486th Avenues.
Traffic will continue through the work zone with the use of flaggers and, at timers, a pilot car. There will be shoulder closures and speed reductions. An 11-foot width restriction will also be in effect throughout the construction.
Motorists are asked to be alert to the construction activity in these areas and be prepared to stop as needed.
The contractor anticipates an October completion.
