53 COVID-19 deaths reported since Friday; active cases go down

Fifty-three COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota since Friday, the total is now 1667,

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 9 since Friday to 243. Total cases are up by 38 to 3306. There have been 32 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3031 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 114. The County is in the substantial community spread category.

Statewide, active cases have decreased by 119 to 632. Total cases have increased by 607 since Friday to 105,659. The number of people who have recovered is 99,379. Current hospitalizations decreased by 24 to 203.

Some 57,121 vaccinations have been administered in the state, 1551 of them in Brookings County.
