70-year-old woman arrested in Watertown stabbing

Watertown police say a suspect is in custody in a stabbing that left the victim with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Officers were dispatched to to a residence just before 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, where they found an adult victim with two stab wounds.

Police immediately identified and located a suspect. Seveny-year-old Wanda Shepherd of Watertown was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault.

The victim was taken to the hospital.

Watertown police and the South Dakota DCI are investigating.
