Another 101 COVID-19 cases in South Dakota, 250 negative tests reported for Brookings County

The state Department of Health reports 101 new cases of COVID-19 today, raising the total of confirmed cases to 1411.

There have been 7 deaths from coronavirus.

There have been 9651 negative tests and 457 people have recovered from the virus.

Brookings County remains at 9 cases with 7 recovered.  There have been 250 negative tests conducted in Brookings County. The county is listed as community spread, in the minimal/moderate category.

The state is now home to the nation’s biggest coronavirus hot spot – Smithfield Foods. Minnehaha County saw another big jump and now stands at 1157 confirmed cases. A large number of those, 777, are connected to Smithfield.
