Four COVID-19 deaths in South Dakota Thursday as active cases increase

Four new COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Thursday, raising the total to 1919.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by 12 to 82. Total cases increase by 17 to 3689. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 3,560 recovered cases. The ever hospitalized number is at 133. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases increase by 57 to 2164. Total cases have increased by 237 to 115,203. The number of people who have recovered is 111,120. Current hospitalizations decrease by 3 to 65.

Some 321,447 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 204,793 people. A total of 10,027 doses have been given in Brookings County to 7119 people.
