No new COVID-19 deaths in South Dakota Wednesday; active cases continue to drop

No COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Wednesday. The total remains 2023.

Active cases in Brookings County increase by one to three. There is one new case, the total is 4232. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and there are 4192 recovered cases. The County is in the “moderate” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases go down by 8 to 221. Total cases increase by 12 to 124,314. There are 122,070 recovered cases. Current hospitalizations decrease by 5 to 38.

Fifty-five percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 665,463 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 357,139 people. A total of 26,735 doses have been given in Brookings County to 14,592 people.
