One business fails Brookings County alcohol compliance check

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department conducted an alcohol sales compliance check Wednesday.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says 10 businesses were checked and one, Skyview Junction, sold alcohol to the 20-year-old buyer.

The employee involved can be cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. The business faces possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

During the last check, in September of last year, three businesses sold to the underage buyer.
