Races set for Brookings Mayor, City Council and School Board

A full slate of candidates for this year’s City and School Election.

There are three candidates for Brookings Mayor. Current Council Member Ope Niemeyer, former Brookings Police Chief Jeff Miller and Bradley Walker are all running. Current Mayor Keith Corbett is not seeking reelection

There are five candidates for two Brookings City Council seats. Incumbent council members Patty Bacon and Nick Wendell have filed as have Isaiah Crevier, Nick Schmeichel and Nate Holden.

There are four candidates for two Brookings School Board seats. Jacqueline Johnson filed Friday while Incumbent Debra DeBates as well as Keli Books and Jade Withers all filed earlier.

The second seat is currently held by Roger DeGroot who is not seeking reelection.

The City and School Election is set for April 13th.
