Sheriff’s Office investigating rural Brookings burglary

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a rural Brookings residential burglary.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebring says it happened sometime between February 18th and Tuesday night at 3250 Western Avenue while the residents were out of town.

It’s believed entry was made through an unlocked window in the back of the residence.

Items stolen include a 9 mm pistol, designer purses, miscellaneous games and DVD’s and nine pairs of Nike Michael Jordan Shoes. Total value of the lost items is about $7500.
