Two Brookings County businesses sell to underage buyer in latest compliance check

The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday conducted an alcohol compliance check at ten businesses.

Assistant Sheriff Scott Sebing says two businesses, Midway Camp and Schade Vineyard, sold alcohol to the 20-year-old buyer.

The employee involved can be cited for furnishing alcohol to a minor. The business faces possible fines and sanctions from the South Dakota Department of Revenue.

During the last check, in May of 2021, one business sold to the underage buyer.
