Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday; active cases continue to fall

Two COVID-19 deaths reported in South Dakota Monday, the total is now 1960.

Active cases in Brookings County drop by eight to 133. Total cases increase by 4 to 4153. There have been 37 deaths in Brookings County and 3,983 people have recovered. The ever hospitalized number is at 149. The County is in the “substantial” community spread category.

Statewide, active cases decrease by 49 to 1822. Total cases increase by 97 to 122,080. There are 118,298 recovered cases. Current Hospitalizations drop by 8 to 96.

Fifty-four percent of the state has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. Some 570,905 vaccinations have been administered in the state to 325,047 people. A total of 20,912 doses have been given in Brookings County to 13,181 people.
