Woman killed in single-vehicle accident near Whitewood

A 24-year-old woman died early Saturday morning in a single-vehicle crash west of Whitewood.
The woman’s name is not yet being released pending notification of family members. She was the only person involved.
The woman’s car was eastbound on Interstate 90 when it went off the roadway and into the ditch, eventually colliding with a tree. The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Highway Patrol continues to investigate the crash.
